The Trip to Australia
Most of the tourists arrive by airplane and usually land on Sydney or Melbourne international airports. There are many more international airports in Australia like those in Cairns, Perth, Darwin and Adelaide. The trip to Australia from Europe takes around 22-30 hours depending on the route. A transit is always included in this time frame since it is unlikely to find a direct flight from Europe. Most of the airlines stop over at Singapore, Bangkok, Bali or Malaysia.
In Australia, the summer months (please note that the summer in southern hemisphere is the winter in north hemisphere) are known to be the high season which is between shortly before Christmas and April. Between April and December, it is possible to find relatively cheaper flight tickets to Australia. During the rest of the year, the ticket prices vary significantly. Usually the cheapest tickets are available between April and June, and the most expensive ones shortly before Christmas.
It is also possible to get to Australia by ship. There are several cruise ships that depart from different harbours in Europe (Hamburg in Germany, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Genoa in Italy and Southampton in England) and arrive in Australia several weeks later, making stop-overs at interesting cities on the way.
