Climate of Adelaide
Adelaide has Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild to cool winters. The summer (December to February) months are pretty hot in Adelaide and very good sun protection (hat and sunblock) is a must. The extreme temperatures might result in inconvenience so the best time to discover Adelaide is in spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) months. During this time, the temperature remains in comfortable ranges and the nature displays amazing scenes while switching from summer to winter and vice versa.
Compared to all other Australian capital cities, Adelaide is the driest. Most rain falls between April and November, making a peak in June. There is almost no rainfall in January and February which sometimes makes the occasional extreme temperatures unbearable. Snowfall in Adelaide is pretty unusual but Mount Lofty and higher surroundings experience snow from time to time. With such a mild climate, Adelaide is a great location for outdoor activities all year around.
