Australian Climate
Being located in the southern hemisphere brings a difference in Australian seasons compared to northern hemisphere. Australian winter is between June and August while the summer is between December and February. Most of the Australians do not miss the chance to celebrate Christmas on the beach at BBQ parties :-)
Since Australia is huge, it is possible to see all 4 seasons at different parts of the country. Over the line between Brisbane and Perth tropic and subtropic climate is dominant. Summer is the rain season and the weather is very hot. There are often storms on the northwest coast and even tornados can be seen while driving further to the outback. Winters are mild in NSW and summers are warm. On the contrary, in Victoria and Tasmania, winters are wet and can get pretty cold. But summer is a nice time to visit both of these states. There are several mountains in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania and it is possible to go skiing in winter. The mountains in the region get more snow than one would expect.
