Pinnacles Desert

Pinnacles, WALocated in Nambung National Park, Pinnacles Desert is one of the few unique wonders in the world. It contains nature's fabulous masterpieces, pinnacles, and is surrounded by a stunning wildflower garden.

The pinnacles are very interesting limestone formations. Each of them are several thousand years old. Their height can differ significantly. Some are just a few centimeters high while many others may be as high as a few meters. They can be of any shape. So you can never see enough of them. Go for a charming discovery tour in the desert but keep in mind to have a compass and at least a litre of water per person with you. And of course a camera... The pinnacles are located on a 17,000 hectares desert with short distances to each other. Especially during the magic hours of sunrise and sunset the whole scene can only be described as picturesque up to the horizon with rich vibrant colors.

Pinnacles, some are high, some are lower...In addition to the pinnacles, Nambung National Park also displays blooming wildflowers in the huge garden surrounding Pinnacles Desert from August to October. Wildflowers are special to Western Australia and Nambung National Park is one of the best locations to see the most magnificent ones. The harmony of the colors in the garden is a real feast for the eyes and creates a perfect composition for a truly admirable photo.

The fauna? There are not many animals at Nambung National Park but western kangaroos, emus and variety of reptiles can be seen.

4WD is necessary for a discovery in a wider region which includes the spectacular Hangover Bay as well. Rent your own or simply buy a tour and let the others organize an unforgettable trip for you.
