Cable Beach

Cable Beach, BroomeWith its golden sand and crystal clear turquoise water of the Indian Ocean, Cable Beach is one of the most stunning beaches in the world. In fact, it offers far more than being a spectacular background for your photos. You can actually swim there. Unlike the other beaches on the northern coast in Australia, sharks and crocodiles are not any usual visitors of Cable Beach. Nevertheless, it is wise to be aware of box jellyfish and stingers from November to April as they may be present in the water.

The biggest advantage of Cable Beach over other renowned beaches in Australia is the low population of Broome. Despite the rapidly increasing interest towards the town and its surroundings, it is still not a big deal to have the entire beach for yourself up to the horizon. Since Cable Beach is 22km long, it is just the question of the kilometers you have left behind yourself after taking over your previous neighbour.

Camel Riding on Cable Beach, BroomeAlthough Cable Beach is ideal for diverse water sports, the most popular activity is Camel Riding along the ocean. The tours are offered a couple of times per day (depending on each tour operator) and during sunset. The sunset camel ride is often preferred in order to obtain a fabulous photo in a romantic ambience.

Cable Beach is just 4-5km away from the centre of Broome in Kimberley region of Western Australia. As the beach is 22km long, it is up to you how far you drive or walk around.

Good news is, getting to Broome is as easy as getting to Cable Beach. Broome is connected to the rest of Western Australia with two highways. Furthermore, a domestic airport is also available. Many flights pendle between the town, and Darwin and Perth several times everyday.
