Phillip Island
The home of little penguins, Penguin Parade, is a part of spectacular Phillip Island Nature Park. Here you get the great chance to observe the smallest penguins in the world from very nearby. These cute and cuddly creatures arrive home in the evening after a hard day of hunting and swimming around. Would you not like to wait for welcoming them? It is awesome!
There are many different options available for viewing the penguins at Penguin Parade. The most popular one is taking place on the boardwalks and sharing this fascinating experience with up to 150 other people. Private or 10-visitor tours are also an option where the visitors are guided by the park rangers and are offered a lot of interesting information about the life and conservation of penguins as well as how the nature park works. Or simply take a ranger tour before the sunset and get briefly informed about "behind the scenes" of the amazing atmosphere in the park. The visitor centre is happy to help you for making your choice among these attractive tours.
Please note that all kind of photography of penguins is prohibited in order to protect their eyes from the strong light of flashes.
If you have already decided to reserve the evening for the penguins, what to do during the rest of the day? Phillip Island has a lot more attractions for real nature lovers. Have you ever been in Nobbies Centre? Watch seals, sharks and dolphins in their natural environment with interactive displays and cameras, and discover more about their lives while enjoying the spectacular views of Phillip Island. Nobbies Centre is just 3km away from Penguin Parade. Free shuttles operate between the two sights at certain times of the day.
And koalas... One of the most famous Aussie icons. The boardwalks in Phillip Island are designed accordingly high which gives the opportunity to come face-to-face with the koalas in their natural environment. Don't miss it!!!
For those who prefer to see some farm animals as well, a visit to Churchill Island is recommended. It is a historical island farm where breathtaking bay views are combined with historical architecture. Furthermore, you can meet horses, sheeps, ducks and many others and enjoy some shopping at the markets.
Choose between visiting just some of these attractions or spending the whole day at Phillip Island. If you don't want to miss anything, go for a 3-parks pass, and enjoy both the discount and the comfort of having one ticket for all. Just keep in mind that the entry to Nobbies Centre is for free.
