Melbourne Aquarium

Melbourne Aquarium is the newest aquarium in Australia. It was founded in 1999 and is already home to more than 10,000 underwater creatures. The oceanarium in Melbourne Aquarium is the biggest fish bowl in Australia. Here, you'll find yourself among numerous shark and fish species that show off creating memorable views. The floor to ceiling coral atoll is also a breathtaking part of the aquarium where you can't stop watching Great Barrier Reef fish collection. The view is simply magnificent. Another thing that makes Melbourne Aquarium so special is the interactive exhibits where the visitors are allowed to touch some animals like sea stars and even sharks. If you are interested in this lifetime experience, you should find the path to Rock Pools, located at level one. Once you are there, don't miss Billabong and Mangrove Exhibits. Nor the Jellyfish Exhibit... One more thing! Don't miss the feeding times. You'll enjoy your every minute!

And the periodic exhibits... For example "Creepy Creatures" where you can meet the Giant Japanese Spider Crabs which are the biggest crabs in the world. Different Christmas Island Crab species also take part in this show together with bird eating spiders, poisonous scorpions, pythons and many more... An impressive and unique exhibit that you can not see at anywhere else!

Melbourne Aquarium is located very close to Flinders Street and Southern Cross Stations on Yarra riverside and is a short stroll away from the inner city attractions. It is also convenient to arrive the aquarium by tram or city sightseeing bus. Using any of them, you can simply hop off at "Melbourne Aquarium" bus stop.

Melbourne Aquarium welcomes its visitors everyday between 9.30am and 6pm. Opening times can be extended depending on the season so it is recommended to check the official web site before a visit.
