Tasmania is around 200km away from Australian mainland. It is seperated from the mainland with Bass Strait. There are certain ways to get to Tasmania. One of them is taking a plane to Hobart or Launcheston airports, the other one is taking a ferry from Melbourne to Davenport. Getting to the island by boat it is a pretty comfortable overnight trip. A rental car can be obtained to get around on the island.
