Queensland Museum
Visiting Queensland Museum is another interesting and educative activity, South Bank offers. Especially for children, it is another world. They have a great time facing life-sized reconstructions of Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops in Dinosaur Garden and Humpback Whales in Whale Mall. Did you know that Museum Zoo has a collection of 700 prehistoric and modern animal models? Awesome! Numerous seminars are being given about animal world at all times. Furthermore, a unique item, the only remaining German tank from the first world war, is definitely a must-see!
Queensland Museum has also divisions where the history and current status of Queensland are exhibited. Not only the history and geography but also from the animal world point of view. Many species, used to live in Queensland, became extinct and some are currently threatened. Visit "endangered species" section to learn more about them.
And Sciencentre... The interactive technology museum... It is heaven for children! They will have a memorable day, discovering every single one of almost 100 exhibits, doing hands-on experiments.
Queensland Museum is located at South Bank and can easily be accessed by CityCat. The entry to the museum is for free but an entry ticket must be purchased for Sciencentre.
