City Botanic Gardens in Brisbane

City Botanic Gardens invite the visitors for relaxing in the heart of Brisbane. Located at the northern banks of Brisbane River, the gardens are very easily accessible and accordingly popular among the tourists as well as the locals. Bamboo Grove, an outstanding collection of 23 bamboo species, is a precious part of the gardens and hasn't disappointed any visitor yet. A short but spectacular walk at 380m Mangrove Broadwalk is also a memorable experience. The broadwalk floats on the mud, totally depending on the suction ability of the mud. Don't worry! You are safe on it.

City Botanic Gardens are particularly loved since they host many events like concerts, exhibitions and festivals all year around. River Stage is dedicated for this purpose. It is recommended to check the upcoming events at the right time and plan in advance.

The gardens also offer recreation possibilities on well maintained tracks. Walking, jogging, cycling for those who are full of energy, and picnic places for those who prefer to spend a lazy afternoon under the blue sky. There is enough fun at City Botanic Gardens for every taste.

Free guided tours, as a part of the service at City Botanic Gardens, targets to offer the maximum out of the gardens and informs about the flora and history. The first tour starts at 11am and in case you miss it, try to do your best to take part at the second one at 1pm (everyday except sundays and public holidays). The meeting point is Main Rotunda where the tourist information centre is also located.

How to get to City Botanic Gardens? By bike for example... Riding through the off-road and on-road bikeways, you'll start enjoying your day already on the way to the gardens. Walking is also an option depending on how far you are. There are numerous off-road pathways for strollers. Another option is taking CityCat or City Ferry and hopping off close to Parliament House. Last but not the least, you can consider taking Loop Bus that is dedicated to transport the passengers within the downtown free of charge.

City Botanic Gardens are open 24 hours everyday and entrance is for free.
