Brisbane, the capital city of QueenslandNamed after Sir Thomas Brisbane, Governor of New South Wales between 1821-1825, Brisbane is founded in 1825 and is selected as the capital city of Queensland in 1859. Since then, the city grew enormously and nowadays the population of Brisbane at the city centre is around 1 million while Brisbane urban area has a population of around 1,8 million. Today, Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia.
