King's Cross

King's Cross, SydneyKing's Cross is the famous red light district in the heart of Sydney. It is just a short walk away from Hyde Park. Everyone who has ever been in Sydney must have passed through this quarter once. Although the shops in Sydney are used to close down relatively early, Kings Cross draws a completely different picture where it is possible to see the "never sleeping Sydney".

Previously only the strip clubs, nightclubs and adult shops were located here but this started to change recently. Nowadays, more and more elegant cafes show up at King's Cross and they introduced their type of customers here as well. This changed the atmosphere pretty a lot, especially during the day time. Still the name of King's Cross is often mentioned with crime. Therefore, it is better to be cautious while walking around in this area.

There are many restaurants, hostels and hotels in the surroundings, so Kings Cross is fully equipped to satisfy every kind of need all day around. It is also pretty easy to get there. You just have to select among several convenient options. You can take the train or the bus from Circular Quay or take a relaxing walk along William Street on a beautiful day once you get to Hyde Park.
