Snowy Mountains are located at Kosciuszko National Park. They are the highest part of Great Dividing Range which stretches from Victoria to Queensland. Go for trekking on Australian Alps Walking Track in order to experience more from Kosciuszko National Park. The track crosses through Australian national parks in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Victoria. Walking up the complete track takes around 8 weeks.

Snowy Mountains are also home to a great integrated water and hydroelectric power scheme. The plant consists of sixteen major dams, seven power stations (two underground), a pumping station, 145kms of interconnected transmountain tunnels and 80kms of aqueducts and has been recognized as one of the civil engineering wonders of the modern world. The construction of the facility took 25 years for more than 100,000 people from 30 countries.

Snowy Mountains are located around 500km southeast of Sydney and actually are much closer to Canberra. It is recommended to be cautious while driving at all times and it is a must to use snow chains during the winter months.
