New South Wales (NSW) is the most populated state in Australia. It is home to almost 7 million people where the capital city, Sydney, is the most populated city with over 4 million inhabitants. The state NSW has a special place in Australian history since it is the oldest European establishment in Australia. "The First Fleet" arrived in Port Jackson, more commonly known as Sydney Harbour, in 1788. Following this, Sydney was founded and its surroundings were developed rapidly.
