Other Accomodation in Australia
In addition to hotels, hostels, B&B's and farms, there are a few more accomodation types in Australia. Motor-Inn's (shortly motels) are one of these. They are located outside the city, close to the most popular roads, the tourists often use. An average room in a motel is usually equipped with a refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, cable TV, ironer, ironing board and a private bathroom. Sometimes even air conditioner...
Apartment is another accomodation type with shared facilities. They have several bedrooms, a common living room, bathroom, kitchen and sometimes also a washing machine. Although the concept of shared kitchen and bathroom is the same as hostels, the advantage of apartments over hostels is the limited number of bedrooms, hence guests. The bedrooms can be rented as single or double rooms.
Resorts are the luxury class accomodation in Australia. They have a similar structure to the holiday resorts that can be found all over the world. They are basically luxury hotels and have their own beach. Some even have their own island (for ex. Hayman Island). They offer many water sports possibilities like sailing, speed boat tours, water skiing, jetski, snorkelling, scuba diving etc... Other than water sports, such resorts usually have golf fields, tennis courts, fishing possibilities and so on... Very well equipped conference rooms can also be arranged for business purposes.
