Bed and Breakfast (B&B) in Australia
B&B's are not the cheapest overnighting possibilities but they are pretty comfortable. A B&B facility basically offers overnighting in a descent room in an Australian family house with shared facilities as well as breakfast. They can be located at anywhere, namely at city centers or further away from the city or even in the outback. There are several "fly-in" B&B's located at some big farms or historical castles, far far away from every big city. They are especially preferred by those adventurers, for whom silence is fun. The air is clean, the food is natural and the nearest neighbor facility is a few hundred kilometers away. These fly-in B&B's usually have an airstrip in the nearby and can be accessed by airplane. In case a notice is given before landing , the landlord often helps with the transportation from the air terminal to the facility.
There are many web pages where B&B directories can be found. One of them is Bed&Breakfast and Farmstay Australia (BBFA) web site where a list of B&B's at each state can be accessed.
